VisionIT CEO & Founder David Segura, Moderated a Panel Discussion of the State of Latino Entrepreneurship at Stanford University
Detroit, Mich. February 8th, 2018. David Segura moderated a highly engaged discussion yesterday on the State of Latino Entrepreneurship at Stanford University. Panelists included entrepreneurs from around the U.S. including:
- Catalina Campos, Cofounder, Greenovate Construction from Kansas City, MO
- Tom Chavez, Founder and CEO, Krux from San Francisco, CA
- Jamie Gutierrez, CEO, Midwest Maintenance Company from Omaha, NE
- Maria Rios, President and CEO, Nation Waste, Inc. from Houstin, TX
In 2013, Stanford Graduate School of Business Professor Jerry Porras and a group of Latino MBA Alumni came together to form a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, the Latino Business Action Network (LBAN), focused on making America stronger through LBAN funded Latino research and education impact programs at Stanford University.
Segura serves as a board member of LBAN which has built the most extensive research on Hispanic businesses in the U.S. as well as a nationally recognized entrepreneurship program for high growth firms.
“The Stanford research shows a continued trend of the increasing number of Latino owned businesses in the U.S. With this panel we also were able to showcase these companies are very sophisticated, in some cases raising venture capital and outside investment leading to large scale enterprises.”, said CEO of VisionIT, David Segura.
