VisionIT President Christine Rice was the mistress of ceremonies at the Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation’s (DHDC) 4th Annual Partners Breakfast on April 28, 2011. The event recognized the tremendous contributions of the DHDC partners and encouraged new partners to get involved to help our at-risk youth. Ms. Carol Goss, President & CEO of The Skillman Foundation, a private independent foundation whose mission is to improve the lives of children in metropolitan Detroit by strengthening their schools and neighborhoods was the key note speaker.
The DHDC provides a wide range of comprehensive, bilingual services that reach over 5,000 youth, adults and families annually, primarily in Southwest Detroit. The DHDC has received national recognition for its effectiveness in helping hard-to-serve populations, and is committed to make a difference by creating life changing opportunities for youth and their families.
Christine Rice is Vice-Chair on the Board of Directors for the DHDC and has made a significant impact on the non-profits’ causes since joining the board in 2009. Apart from taking the lead on the Partners Breakfast and other DHDC partnership events, she has been very involved with efforts to send DHDC youth to summer camp. She has championed food and monetary donation drives and leveraged VisionIT’s technical resources to improve the DHDC website.
“The Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation is an organization that I have been very excited to support,” said VisionIT President, Christine Rice. “The DHDC cultivates the Hispanic community in our region providing services that are truly changing lives. Giving back to the community and especially this organization is a top priority of mine and I am honored that I was asked to be the mistress of ceremonies.”
The event took place at the DHDC headquarters at 1211 Trumbull St., Detroit, MI 48216.
