VisionIT was the recipient of the 2009 Supplier of the Year award at the 26th Annual Michigan Minority Business Development Council Awards Dinner. The fast-growth staffing, IT managed services, and vendor management firm won the top honor for the largest minority business category (revenues greater than $50 million).
“This was a long-term goal for VisionIT not only since it recognizes outstanding service delivery but our commitment to growing other minority-owned businesses,” said Carolyn Fortenberry, Director of Supplier Relations who accepted the award on behalf of VisionIT. “It was such a tremendous honor to be recognized by the MMBDC for the work we do each day.”
In order for VisionIT to have been considered for the Supplier of the Year award, another MMBDC member corporation who works with VisionIT had to nominate the company. To win the award a minority-owned business must demonstrate outstanding service delivery for member corporations, innovation in its solutions, significant spend with other minority-owned businesses, corporate HR diversity initiatives, and long-term community activity. All of the above are common business practices of VisionIT since it opened its doors more than 12 years ago.
