Bruce S. Friedman, Vice President, Global Operations

Bruce Friedman Bruce Friedman serves as Vice President of Global Operations for VisionIT.

In this role, Friedman is responsible for ensuring the presence of both the structure and the resources to deliver global services that exceed client expectations. Friedman also leads the development of the organization and operating mechanisms to enable consistent growth in VisionITs Managed Services business and expansion into new markets, including Alliance/Partnership strategies.

Friedman has had the opportunity to touch almost every aspect of the IT business, developing a strong track record in business process design and re-engineering, as well as effectively leading large global delivery teams composed of members across multiple disciplines. Friedman has developed a keen awareness of the challenges of operating in multi-national and global environments. Friedman also has worked on several enterprise transformation efforts, giving him broad visibility into organizational dynamics and the imperatives for successful change.

Prior to joining VisionIT, Friedman had a broad 20+ year career with Hewlett Packard and EDS. Beginning in EDSs legal department, where he ultimately led a large portion of the companys legal services and was a key advisor to the companys senior leadership, Friedman moved to Human Resources, where he led the transformation of the companys global HR structure and services.

Friedman then moved into an executive role on the General Motors account (the largest IT outsourcing contract world-wide at the time), where he was responsible for a $4bil+ contract portfolio and several of the accounts cross-functional operations. He also was responsible for the accounts Alliance strategy and the development of its Business Process Outsourcing portfolio. As part of the GM accounts transformation strategy, Friedman was tasked with designing and executing a unified business operations capability to support the account, during which all business support operations across the globe were consolidated into a single organization with a cohesive process, financial structure and supporting systems. Friedman moved on to lead the same initiative for all of EDS. When HP acquired EDS, Friedman was assigned to a senior role on the HP/EDS integration team, where he led the development of the account operations structures that would support the combined enterprises, and then led that organization across the HP Enterprise Services division.

Before EDS, Friedman was a practicing attorney, specializing in Labor and Employment, and Human Resources consulting. Friedman represented companies across the United States, while working for firms in Atlanta, Georgia and Cleveland, Ohio. Friedman is a member of the Bar of the States of Ohio, Georgia, Texas, and Michigan, as well as several Federal District and Appellate courts. He is a member of the American Bar Association.

Friedman has a strong record of charitable involvement supporting childrens needs, and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Detroit Institute for Children.

Friedman received a double BA from Emory University, and his JD from Case Western Reserve School of Law, where he was a Dewitte Scholar.
